Mode of Resistance: Mutation in rpsL (gene for S12 ribosomal protein) prevents binding of streptomycin to ribosome. Aminoglycoside phosphotransferase also inactivates. Antimicrobial spectrum: Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. |
