Alternate Names | Gly-Phe-AFC; GF-AFC |
Application Notes | Gly-Phe-AFC is a fluorogenic, cell-permeant peptide substrate use to measure number of live cells in cytotoxic assay. It enters intact cells where it is cleaved to generate a fluorescent signal proportional to the number of living cells. This live-cell protease activity marker becomes inactive upon loss of membrane integrity and leakage into the surrounding culture medium. It is also used as substrate for measuring Dipeptidyl peptidase1 (DPP1) activity. DPP1 is a lysosomal cysteinyl protease of the papain family involved in the intracellular degradation of proteins. |
