It is used for the treatment of HIV-related Tuberculosis, travelerÂ’s diarrhea (TD), clostridium difficile-associated disease (CDAD) and rheumatoid knee synovitis. It is utilized to study potential genes like rif15 and rif16 during the conversion of rifamycin SV into rifamycin B.
